"Bangkok Girl" - Is It Worth Anything? - Bangkok Deals - Bangkok Covered

The team here at Bangkok Deals has recently watched the hit documentary “Bangkok Girl” and while we found the film did show many truths to Bangkok and Thailand specifically. Bangkok Girls is a documentary that brings you into the world of a Bar Worker named Pha. While Pha Denys working as a Bar Girl, it is clear she does by the gold she wears and her brilliant English. The fact the film portrays her as having not worked in a bar really is a major indicator that the person who filmed this is thinking of them selves, and not of the Thai People or the truth.

Bangkok Girls brings you into the middle of Bangkok’s nightlife mecca, Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza and Patpong. The film shows many bar girls and many western men, some men have been filmed while others have had there face blurred. The team here at Bangkok Deals believes that while a small part of the documentary does ring true, much of it is centered around making western men look bad in Thailand. The film also does a fantastic job at making the Police appear to be 100% corrupt and the Thai people to do rather silly.

The team here at Bangkok Deals would prefer if you voice your opinion of this film to its Publisher as they needs to realize that a film like this needs to ring the truth. It is clear in parts of the film, that Pha is not comfortable with the questions that are been asked or the way he is asking them, she even requests the camera to be turned of at times which he refuses to do. A member of the team at Bangkok Deals is actually friends with someone who knows Pha, and we can advise that she did not die (as the film end makes you believe) but instead has meet a great western men. She has married him and now lives in Germany. This film was a major issue for her and created many problems which is funny considering the film maker was trying to take the high road by helping these Thai Girls.

While much of this is all over the place, remember to avoid reading or watching Bangkok Girl.
