Its famous, its on a bunch of movies and everyone has heard of it, we of course are talking about Patpong. Bangkok‘s most vibrant, oldest and sometimes most dangerous red light district. Patpong, Bangkok is about 4.5 acre’s large and consists of Bars, Girlie Bars and Go-Go‘s that pretty much are out to offer men the time of there lives, they are generally not used by ladies although they are welcome to do so, it has 2 small Soi’s which you are able to walk down that has all the different venue’s. The 2 lanes of Patpong are very easy to find as they are in between Silom and Surawong Roads. Patpong is easily of the craziest and best nightlife area’s in all of South East Asia, perhaps the entire world! People will always walk away with a fantastic story to tell and will tell other people they need to go to check it out at least once. Each of the Patpong Lanes are about 240-270 meters long and have lots of open air bars either side. There are also a large number of GoGos that are a little more closed of and sometimes harder to see, the girls do offer a fantastic show dancing to the latest tunes. Patpong also has some great Sports Bars where the girls will generally just serve drinks and not bother you for anything else, they can get very busy during sports time though so get in early if its a big game.

Soi 2, Patpong has a number of up market lounges which are a little more comfortable and slightly more expensive then the bars that are sound on Soi 1. One of the best and most mentionable bars in this location would be the Cosmos Club or the Crown Royal, they usually have less girls on staff who have higher pay and do not get anything for drinks so they will never ask.

At the end of the day, everyone will always have their own person choice and you will never be sure until you have gone through all of Patpong in Bangkok and tried each and every bar because they all offer something a little different! Patpong is a fun place that shows you a side of Thailand that really lead to us all taking us Vacations there, its no secret that soldiers in the 1970′s found Patpong while waiting to be deployed for the war and they found they great scene that if offers.

There is also a fantastic organization that works through Patpong which is called Empower, this is a service which helps to educate Bar Girls and at times Bar Owners in different subjects to help get them out of this scene, some of the subjects it offers are in, health, and pre-college education, and it also provides individual counseling. Empower has also had many campaigns in the effort to help the Red ight Workers in Bangkok get better pay and better hours. As most the girls that work in the Red Light area’s of Bangkok such as Patpong, it is a great organization to help them get educated and do more with there life if they wish to.
