The Bangkok Deals team spends a lot of time in Disco’s, Nightclubs and High End Bars, but this is not what Bangkok is known for or why the tourists come. The Black Swan Bar in Bangkok is another place people don’t really come to Bangkok for but once they have visited they always return! The Black Swan is a true to its self English Bar that mixes in Thai Customers and has some very beautiful Bar Girls working around the clock; Bangkok Deals considers it an oasis away from and yet inside the famous Soi Cowboy Seedy Area of Bangkok’s underworld. The Black Swan Bar can be found in Asoke BTS and across the road from the MRT.
When you walk in the Black Swan you instantly feel a little warmer inside and a few of the team mentioned they felt like they had just caught a plane home! The bar has everything you would expect in an Irish or English Pub along with Thai Bar Girls looking to play games or just have a chat! Mix this with some of the fine beer they serve which includes – draught Heineken, Guinness, Tetley’s Bitter, Tiger and Kilkenny. While Beer is the main drink in the Black Swan they also serve a large range of spirits and wines – we did notice a large amount of alcohol going into each glass so this is a well worth option.
While inside the Black Swan we saw a number of small families and people with children entering the Bar. The staff and guests seem to be comfortable with this and understand a level of respect must be presented for these people. Bangkok Deals was very impressed to see how well the Black Swan was been run and we will be returning
One of the best Happy Hours that can be found in Bangkok is at the black swan – 2pm. to 7 pm. everyday including weekends. Drinks from 70 Baht/bottle, beers from 100 Baht/pint.
The Black Swan also serves a fantastic range of Thai and International dish’s that are cooked fresh and taste fantastic. It appears that the owners wife runs the back room which includes the cooking. Food at the Black Swan is a fantastic option for people who are getting ready for a big night or big Holiday!!!!
